During the course of my work as a Spiritual Intuitive I have done readings for many clients who believe they have met their twin flame, soul mate, or life partner, but they are often devastated when they discover the person is reluctant to build a life with them. They can’t understand why this person will not reciprocate the feelings and agree to embark upon a journey with them.

In order to assist clients in better understanding the twin flame, soul mate, life partner phenomenon I will explain what each one means and the common misconceptions that accompany them.

SOUL MATE: A soul mate is anyone and everyone who stretches our soul, pushes our buttons, and teaches us life long lessons. Soul mates can be romantic in nature or they can be friends, family, co-workers, or even strangers. The whole point of a soul mate connection is to teach us those lessons and change us for the better.

Romantically speaking, many people mistake a brief soul mate encounter for a life partnership.Sometimes, intense connections are meant to shake us up, change the way we look at the world, and send us on our way.

That intensity can not always be sustained over long stretches of time and the only reason that energy came into our lives was to transform the way we view life. Once that transformation occurs the soul mate’s job is over and they leave.

TWIN FLAME: A twin flame is our spiritual counterpart, or other half if you will. For some of us, before we came into existence on earth, our soul split into two parts. One part represents the masculine energy of the universe and the other part represents the feminine energy of the universe. This energy really has nothing to do with being biologically male or female. Simply put, masculine energy projects outward. While feminine energy moves inward. Sometimes, those twin flames will find themselves on planet earth at the same time and come together as one to build a relationship.

Like soul mates, all twin flames are not romantic partnerships. Sometimes, the connection can exist between mother and child, siblings, or close friends. The other element of twin flame phenomenon that often gets overlooked is this:

The whole point of the relationship is to mirror pure, unconditional love to each other and the world. True twin flame connections reflect a life of service and spiritual awareness that is shared between the flames and then projected out into the larger community.

From my experience as a Spiritual Intuitive I have also found that not every one has a twin flame and not everyone will reconnect with their twin flame in this lifetime. Sometimes, twin flames exist in other dimensions and a reconnection will only occur once we pass the physical body.

Additionally, there is a great deal of information written about what happens when two twin flames meet in the same life time but cannot be together. Much of the written information states that they both have the equivalent of a nervous breakdown if they cannot successfully build a relationship and fulfill their mission. While this does hold some truth, it also opens gateways that are confusing, questionable, and difficult to close.

For example, I have encountered many people who are emotionally unbalanced or mentally ill (but untreated) who have latched onto to someone who is not their twin flame, only to be rebuffed and rejected. However, because they are not grounded in reality, mentally sound, and spiritually aware they believe that the deep emotional breakdown they are having is a result of losing the twin flame. When in fact it is often an sign of unexpressed childhood trauma, personality disorders, or severe mental illness.

It is very important to remember that the twin flame connection is primarily about service to the community coupled with the love they share for each other.

LIFE PARTNERS: Life partners are those people we choose to build a life & a possibly a family with. Life partners are most certainly soul mates because they definitely change us for the better. However, these encounters are long lasting soul mate connections versus brief ones. Often times, genuine, healthy life partnerships last so long because we like each other, enjoy each other, and have values & beliefs that complement one another.

Sometimes, a twin flame can also be a life partner. This usually happens when both people are spiritually aware and emotionally mature enough to sustain the relationship.

Being emotionally balanced and centered is the key to having a successful twin flame relationship or any relationship for that matter. If that is not present it will be very difficult to love each other fully, let alone serve the planet.

ALWAYS,

NICOLE
