• I am from California and have lived in Turkey since 1997.

• In 2003 I was the only foreign speaker at the First Turkish Olive Oil & Table Olive Symposium (Türkiye I. Zeytinyağı ve Sofralık Zeytin Sempozyumu’nu)* held in Izmir, Turkey. In 2008 I was the only foreigner to present in Turkish at the First Eastern Mediterranean Olive and Olive Oil Summit (1. DoÄŸu Akdeniz Zeytin ve Zeytinyağı Zirvesi) in Adana, Turkey.

• I have spoken on Turkish TV about Olive Oil marketing.

• I am founding member of the largest Association in the Olive Oil industry in Turkey. And been interviewed in multiple times in the “Dünya Gazetesi”, the largest daily business newspaper in Turkey.

• I was responsible for over 20% of the bottled extra virgin olive oil exports to the US from Turkey in our best year.

• I have done hundreds of hours of research on the retail marketing of olive oil in the United States and published a professional paper in Turkish on my research.
