BS’D Derech came as a practicing Jew to live in the spiritual atmosphere in the north of Israel. He has worked for five years as a mentor and counselor at a school for Jewish boys at risk. Boys arrive at the school deeply troubled and others with drug and family related issues. He is an unabashed optimist and his joyful approach sometimes finds him dancing in the street. He loves to study and teach Judaism He is a speaker on matters of family relationships, happiness, drug and alcohol counseling and has spoken around the world. He addresses high school students on the anti drug topic of “Don’t take the first puff—.Don’t take the first sip!” and one ofhis most popular talks is called “How to Love the ‘Unlovable’ ” and enjoys addressing audience questions and talking to them about their personal issues. People have always sought Binyamin’s advice. He has the ability to listen with empathy and understanding and to really hear what people are saying.
