I have been following The Dating Rules since October 2001. Since then I have been engaged twice with a few other offers to move in with my boyfriend at the time. By the way, Rules girls do not move in with their boyfriends.

I have now been dating my present boyfriend for over one year. Last Christmas he bought my son and I our own 3-bedroom, 3-bath detached brick house to live in, mortgage free, close to my son’s school.

Before that my son and I were living in a partially un-heated basement apartment with loud, very loud stereo blasting drug users right above our heads. Low celings. One of the tenants came down drunk once to go to the furnace room and used the most horrific foul language in front of my son. He had a smirk on his face while he did it. I was too scared to complain to the landlords at first.

It was hell. I actually didn’t think I was going to make it. I felt I was going insane and I was very depressed last summer 2007. Thanks to The Rules that taught me how to behave, and then because my b/f got us out of there.

I could not be more content at this moment. My child now has an instant middle class life. His own bedroom. We are happy.

Right now I do not live with my boyfriend. He lives in his own house. We enjoy a very normal and nice relationship. He is very loving and caring. He treats my son like his own, told me he loved me and my son.

I have and enjoy all this because of The Rules.
