Kathie G. O’Neal has spent the majority of her life in the business of Customer Service. Her expertise is precise intuitive inference with people. From the time she was a small child she could capture the attention of people with her wit and practical understanding.
After the death of her first husband in 1974, she became very independent and began looking for mentor after mentor to help guide her through life. She put herself through Draughon Business College in Springfield, Missouri graduating with honors. She also spent several years of academia at colleges such as Meramec Jr. College in St. Louis, Missouri, Drury College in Springfield, Missouri and Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri where she studied business and business practices as well as computer sciences. She attributes her vast range of knowledge in Customer Service and business to even more years spent in the College of Hard Knocks where she feels she graduated Cumae Laude.
Kathie opened her first business in Springfield, Missouri with the borrowing of a barbershop shoe shine chair in 1983. By the end of 1987, her ownership of what was then known as Ms. J’s Shoe Shine, had grown from one chair to a selection of eighteen with a contract crew of 32. During this time, Kathie invested her energy in a philanthropic endeavor with the Springfield Children’s Home where she hired young people as contract employees. The intent was to build self-esteem as well as a financial base of independence for each young person. Her staff was concentrated with single working mothers as well as any youth that wanted to work. Her theory was that if anyone wanted to work and did not mind hard work, they had a job with her.
Years later, in 1998 she took over a wholesale balloon and novelty enterprise where she again used the opportunity to hire contract employees as her base and was quite successful. Her mainstay contracts were some of the most notable casinos in Kansas City where she and her crews of decorators kept a delightful display on the casino floors as well as being the main attraction for most of the employee pep rallies held by the employers of those casinos. She also developed an international line of business as well as an internet catalog.
Since 2000, she has trained and mentored hundreds of talented people from all occupations who looked for a better avenue in which to live their lives. She has worked with corporations such as Lee Jeans Corporation, IBM, Western Auto Supply Company, several large casino operations as well as Brighthouse Networks. She has also lobbied for fair taxation and taken part as a member of two Focus Groups for multibillion-dollar corporations. She has also been a Training Champion working with TMI Industries at Isle of Capri Casino where she was assistant to Peta Peter, Sr. Partner with TMI out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Kathie has invested over 30 years dedicating time to the art of the deal as well as the art of knowing not only who is in charge, but who is in control.
